    Hi Claude,

I just found out about your web site while reading Alex Wolff’s story in my issue of SI that just arrived in the mail. Congrats, this is a cool site. I don’t know if you already have this on your site, but I did a piece last February on Craig Robinson while he was coaching at Brown:

I’m a freelance writer in Connecticut. Worked at The Hartford Courant for 20 years. I’m talking to Craig Robinson again on Friday and that will be the lead to my column on college basketball for AthlonSports.com. It will post on Monday. I’d be glad to send you a link when it goes up.

    Good luck with the site.

I learned about your website in my most recent issue of Sports Illustrated. The article details Obama’s involvement in basketball and how it has played a role in his life. I believe that this is an article that everyone should read. Obama believes that true character is shown on the court and I would love to see him in action. So my suggestion is for Barack Obama to play in the NBA’s Celebrity All-Star game in Phoenix,AZ. It would be an event for the ages that Americans would remember for years to come. If there are supporters of the idea please generate some buzz so we can see the Baller-In-Cheif live and in action.

    Thanks and great website!

    Hi Claude,

Love the site. I’m a senior on the basketball team at Middlebury College and thought you might be interested in the posters that we’ve been making this season for our games. Since the start of the season, we’ve used Obama our promotional posters and have drawn great crowds. On top of the posters, we’ve had the most successful season in our program’s history: going 21-3, winning the regular season league championship (NESCAC, DIII), being seeded number 1 in our conference tournament beginning this week.

Please check out a couple of these posters if you get a couple minutes. I’d love to hear what you think and would be more than happy to hit you up with an email with some more details and the hi quality jpegs!

I think this site needs a “Career Statistics” section where we can look up all of Obama’s numbers. I’d be interested to see how he does during casual pick up games these days, as well as some of his stats during high school and before his presidency.

Robert, that could be interesting, especially the high school box scores, although it’s clear from all writings that President Obama didn’t play much so I wouldn’t be surprised if there aren’t many. As far as pickup “stats,” most pick-up players are not even thinking about stats so they (we) definitely don’t bother keeping track. In fact, that would be the height of laughability (is that a word?) on any court and if you tried that on a playground then it’s possible no one there would want to play with you ever again. LOL :-) But maybe someone that plays with him can provide “anecdotal” evidence. Or do you think co-players first have to first sign a non-disclosure? Thanks for your suggestion!

Do you know any sites that sell Obama basketball related shirts? I saw a guy at lunch today with a shirt on that had a hand spinning a red, white, and blue basketball with the words “Obama ‘08″ printed on the basketball
