University President Michael Hogan has issued a challenge to President Barack Obama regarding his NCAA bracket.
On Friday, Hogan sent a letter to Obama saying he was “keenly disappointed – shocked, even – that you and members of your Sports Advisory Task Force” didn’t choose the UConn’s men basketball team to win the NCAA Final Four, according to a news release.
Hogan said if Obama’s bracket is right, and Memphis wins, he will send the Conn Men, one of UConn’s a cappella groups, to the White House to sing the Memphis Fight song and “Hail to the Chief.”
However, if UConn wins, he wants Obama to be UConn’s commencement speaker and accept an honorary degree from the University in May 2010.
“Trusting that you will accept this challenge in good faith and in a spirit of true sportsmanship and good will, I send you my highest regards and best wishes,” Hogan said in the release.
Editor’s Note:
Maybe Hogan should spend less time worrying about Obama’s picks and more time considering a stress management program for Jim Calhoun:
