Thanks for your comment and suggestion about Sports Club/LA. That’s a great call. My take on Results was that it had such a history, and such an accessible neighborhood feel to it, even more so than the Capital YMCA. But you’re right, SC/LA could be the most luxurious, most modern, most exclusive, trendiest, most blingy fitness center chain around. I’ve never played basketball there. But now you leave me no choice. :-)

As far as the politics, everyone wants our nation to succeed. The only thing I don’t understand is this part of your comment:

When you say “recent history,” which recent history do you mean, the last 8 years?

You put forth a strong argument in favor of Results on Cap Hill. Nicely done. However, I think any discussion about the best gym for the CIC to shoot hoops would be remiss if the Sports Club/LA wasn’t under consideration. It is without question one of the nicest gyms in DC, especially when you take into account all of the factors involved (facilities, amenities, location, clientele, etc.). Not to mention it has a terrific basketball court.

As for Carl’s comment about the other side of Congress, I beg to differ. Obama’s biggest challenge will be reining in his own side of the aisle, as we are seeing all too well in regards to the economic stimulus package, i.e. Nancy Pelosi’s Spendorama bill. If Obama is truly what he made himself out to be, i.e. the post-partisan, solution-oriented, let’s put the “childish” ways of the past behind us and get shit done politician, then he’s going to have to start with the current party in power. And it will be up to the Democrats to step up and demonstrate their willingness and ability to exercise power responsibly. Given recent history, this will prove difficult at best and impossible at worst with Nancy Pelosi at the head of the class. His failure to do so, and no small task will it be, will most likely jeopardize the Democrat’s majority in 2010 and could potentially add considerable downward pressure on Obama’s chances in 2012. If Obama is one thing, he is smart. Thank God for that. And he knows that the balm to our current wounds cannot and must not be dragged down by partisan politics. In other words, any solution worth its while will be the product of a bipartisan effort.

I ain’t hatin… I’m just statin’.

…what a great idea..Yes, Our President needs a sense of comfort while reviewing and communicating with his advisory team on issues concerning national/world security, and let’s not forget his urban policies which is right on time-
