It’s not just basketball that the President loves, according to Christina Bellantoni of The Washington Times.
Robert Gibbs, the White House press secretary, said Obama had “been throwing a little bit” with Reggie Love, his aide and a former basketball player at Duke.
Unlike last year, all the players are psyched about meeting the President.
Tonight, President Obama will throw out the first pitch at the All-Star game in St. Louis, and do a half inning of sports commentary in the Fox TV anchor booth.
President Obama will be the first POTUS to throw out an All-Star toss since Gerald Ford in 1976 and fourth overall.
In a Rose Garden ceremony yesterday Obama enthusiastically accepted a personalized Crew jersey and even showed he knows what to do with a soccer ball.
“We’ll get it done sometime down the road. I don’t know when, but we will definitely do it,” Woods says.
The Obamas may spend their summer vacation in Oak Bluffs on the island of Martha’s Vineyard, but has anyone scoped out the president’s basketball options there?
