ND basketball player grew up on same block as Obama

As a kid, Tom played basketball for a city league. One day, then State Senator Barack Obama talked to the kids as a guest speaker. Tom says he’s seen Obama shooting hoops at the local gym.
“He’s got, from what I hear, a really nice jump shot.”
So we asked Tom, who he thinks would win in a little game of one-on-one?
“He’s been quoted to be saying he’s gonna build a hoop over at the White House or something. I was like, sure, I’ll take him. I’ll shoot with him. Who knows… I’d give the edge to me.”
But then we asked, who would be better at solving the country’s economic crisis, and Tom says, that’s out of his court.
“He definitely would be. Definitely would be. But I think I’ve got him in basketball.”
